write your manifestation letter for 2025

Updated: Dec 31, 2024

Wish lisht for manifestation

Here’s a ritual I’ve done every year since it was recommended to me in 2015.

Every January 1st, I write a wish list for the upcoming year and keep it safely tucked away in an envelope, only to open it the following year.

What I love most is the excitement of opening the letter the next January 1st to see what I’ve manifested. It’s a moment I truly cherish because it’s my time, just for me. It’s a way of planning for the year while trusting that magic will work and my wishes will come true.

So far, I’ve managed to manifest quite a few things, like living in Canada, finding solutions to my skin problems (thank you, acupuncture and naturopathy!), and even some travel experiences. There are also many things that haven’t manifested at all, others that are still in progress after many years, and some that, upon reflection, were likely too vague.

When I reread my letters, I realize that certain “big things” we want—like financial independence—can take us on paths whose duration can only be determined by our understanding of the situation, our personal development, and the energy we invest.

The vast majority of things I’ve manifested have required time and effort—very little has simply “fallen into my lap.” This exercise is also a moment of meditation, introspection, and planning in its own way.

Here’s How to Do It:

A quick note: If you can’t do this on January 1st, it’s not a problem. The goal is to do it at the beginning of the year.

1. Create a Witchy Mood

Get into a meditative and cozy mindset—set aside 1-2 hours of uninterrupted time. You can start with a meditation if you like. Light some candles to create a vibe, play some music, and prepare a cup of tea or herbal infusion. This is your moment, so take your time, think about yourself, and what you want.

2. Reflect on the Past Year

(You can do this step beforehand if you want—while walking, exercising, cleaning, or doing something else.)

Think about the year that just ended: What were the highlights? What did you enjoy most? What were the challenges, and what lessons did you learn? What would you like to carry into 2025, and what would you rather leave behind—whether that’s relationships, situations, or emotions?

3. Practice Gratitude

No ritual is complete without gratitude. Even if your year wasn’t great, focus on everything you’re thankful for and write a gratitude letter.

4. Write Your Wish List

By focusing on your needs and desires for the coming year, you refine your vision and set a direction. This helps align your actions with your goals. So, think carefully about everything you want in 2025—sky’s the limit! Don’t judge yourself; this letter is just for you. Whether it’s relationships, material gains, feelings, emotions, or adventures, think about everything you want, big or small. Be clear and specific.

5. Seal Your Letter in an Envelope

Once you’ve finished your letter, place it in an envelope and seal it. Write the date on it—“To be opened on January 1st, 2026”—and store it in a safe place. Do this immediately so you don’t risk misplacing the letter—you never know!

6. Trust and Open the Letter in 2026

Now that it’s done, you’ve thought about what you want, written it down, and expressed gratitude. Let things take their course. Chances are, you’ll forget what you wrote as the year goes on. You’ll rediscover it in a year and see what has manifested, reflecting on how things have evolved.

Feel free to write anything you want—this is the perfect time of year for it.

This ritual is a gentle reminder that we are the Captains of our own Ships, and it’s up to us to manifest the life we desire. Remember, every dream or manifestation begins with an intention. This ritual is a wonderful way to start the year with clear goals while being mindful of what you learned in the previous year.
